Jeremiah Buys a Field

1 The wordWord: דָּבָר (Davar). The Hebrew davar (דָּבָר) means word, thing, or matter—God's creative and authoritative speech. 'By the word of the LORD were the heavens made' (Psalm 33:6). that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar. 2 For then the king of Babylon's army besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremiah the prophetProphet: נָבִיא (Navi). The Hebrew navi (נָבִיא) means prophet—one who speaks God's word to the people. 8 So Hanameel mine uncle's son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the LORDLord: יְהוָה / אֲדֹנָי (YHWH / Adonai). 13 And I charged Baruch before them, saying,
