The New Covenant

2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the LordLord: Κύριος (Kurios). The Greek Kurios (Κύριος) means 'lord' or 'master,' used both for human masters and divinely for God the Father and Jesus Christ. 3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer. Sacrifice: Hebrews 5:1, 7:27, Ephesians 5:2. Parallel theme: Hebrews 9:14, Titus 2:14

4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priestPriest: ἱερεύς (Hiereus). The Greek hiereus (ἱερεύς) means priest. 5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount. 6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenantCovenant: διαθήκη (Diatheke). The Greek diatheke (διαθήκη) means covenant or testament—a binding arrangement. The New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:31-34) is ratified by Christ's blood, surpassing the old (Hebrews 8:6-13)., which was established upon better promises.
