The Widow's Offering

Jesus Foretells the Destruction of the Temple

5 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,

Signs Before the End

10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdomKingdom: βασιλεία (Basileia). The Greek basileia (βασιλεία) means kingdom—both the realm ruled and the exercise of royal authority. 11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heavenHeaven: οὐρανός (Ouranos). 30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
