Repent or Perish

1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose bloodBlood: αἷμα (Haima). The Greek haima (αἷμα) denotes blood. Christ's blood 'cleanseth us from all sin' (1 John 1:7), securing 'eternal redemption' (Hebrews 9:12) through His once-for-all sacrifice. Believers have been 'purchased with his own blood' (Acts 20:28). Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.

3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repentRepent: μετανοέω (Metanoeo). The Greek metanoeo (μετανοέω) means to change one's mind or purpose—a complete transformation of thinking. The Parable of the Barren Fig Tree

11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spiritSpirit: πνεῦμα (Pneuma). The Greek pneuma (πνεῦμα) means spirit, wind, or breath—the immaterial aspect of persons.
