God's promise is not just external change, but an internal transformation.
God doesn't patch up our old heart; He removes it and gives us a completely new one. He takes away the heart of stone—hard, unresponsive, resistant—and replaces it with a heart of flesh that's tender, responsive, and alive. This is the deep work that makes lasting change possible.
