PeaceGlory and Peace
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
The angelic choir sang the theological summary of Christ's birth: God glorified, humanity reconciled.
The incarnation simultaneously brings glory to God in heaven and peace to people on earth. This peace comes specifically to those on whom God's favor rests—those who receive Christ. The birth of Jesus resolves the fundamental conflict between holy God and sinful humanity. Where there was once enmity, Christ creates peace through His own body.
For Today
Meditate today on the peace Christ has made between you and God, then extend that peace to others through forgiveness and reconciliation.
Prayer
Glory to You, O God in the highest! Thank You for bringing peace to earth through Jesus. Help us be peacemakers in Your name. Amen.
