Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
The prophet revealed a paradox: a king who comes in humility rather than military might.
This Messianic prophecy foresaw Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem, where He came righteous and bringing salvation, yet mounted on a donkey instead of a warhorse. This image overturns human expectations of power—God's king conquers through humility and servanthood rather than force. His first coming established peace; His second will bring victory.
