Israel's Insincere Repentance

1 Come, and let us return unto the LORDLord: יְהוָה / אֲדֹנָי (YHWH / Adonai). When 'LORD' appears in small capitals, it represents the Tetragrammaton YHWH (יְהוָה), God's personal covenant name meaning 'I AM.' When 'Lord' appears normally, it's Adonai (אֲדֹנָי), meaning 'my Lord,' emphasizing sovereignty.: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. References Lord: Hosea 14:1, 1 Samuel 2:6, Isaiah 2:3, 55:7, Jeremiah 3:22, 30:17. Parallel theme: Hosea 14:4, Deuteronomy 32:39, Job 5:18, 34:29 +5

3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
