God's Compassion Prevails

How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together. Repentance: Deuteronomy 32:36. Parallel theme: Hosea 6:4, Genesis 14:8, Deuteronomy 29:23, 2 Kings 13:23, Jeremiah 31:20, Lamentations 1:20, Amos 4:11, Matthew 23:37, 2 Peter 2:6 +5

I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the HolyHoly: קָדוֹשׁ (Qadosh). The Hebrew qadosh (קָדוֹשׁ) means holy or set apart—separated from common use for God's purposes. God is 'the Holy One of Israel,' utterly distinct from creation in moral perfection. One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city. References God: Numbers 23:19. Holy: Isaiah 12:6. Parallel theme: Hosea 14:4, 2 Samuel 20:10, Jeremiah 30:11, Malachi 3:6

They shall walk after the LORDLord: יְהוָה / אֲדֹנָי (YHWH / Adonai). When 'LORD' appears in small capitals, it represents the Tetragrammaton YHWH (יְהוָה), God's personal covenant name meaning 'I AM.' When 'Lord' appears normally, it's Adonai (אֲדֹנָי), meaning 'my Lord,' emphasizing sovereignty.: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west. References Lord: Isaiah 31:4, Jeremiah 2:2, 25:30, Joel 3:16, Amos 1:2. Parallel theme: Isaiah 64:2, Jeremiah 7:9, 31:9, Acts 24:25, 2 Peter 2:10 +5

They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, saith the LORD. References Lord: Isaiah 11:11. References Egypt: Hosea 7:11, Zechariah 10:10. Parallel theme: Isaiah 60:8

Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints. Parallel theme: Hosea 12:7, Isaiah 44:20, Revelation 3:21
