17 versesFor I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.
If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.
When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel after their number, then shall they give every man a ransom for his soul unto the LORD, when thou numberest them; that there be no plague among them, when thou numberest them.

Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.
Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee.
Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which is guilty of death: but he shall be surely put to death.
