And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
Jesus Christ loves us and has freed us from our sins by His own blood.
The foundation of our freedom is the sacrificial love of Christ expressed through His blood shed on the cross. Sin's penalty and power are broken not by our effort but by His sacrifice. This freedom is rooted in the deepest love imaginable—Christ giving His life for us.
