Jeconiah
Generation 12 from Adam
Biography
Also known as Jehoiachin, the son of Jehoiakim who became king of Judah at age 18, Jeconiah reigned only three months before Nebuchadnezzar besieged Jerusalem and took him captive to Babylon. He was imprisoned for 37 years until Evil-Merodach released him and gave him honor. He appears in Matthew's genealogy of Jesus.
Jeconiah represents God's judgment on David's line, yet God's faithfulness continues through him to bring the Messiah, showing grace even in judgment.
