Booz or Boaz Kekulé #17592186044416
Generation 2 from Adam · Ancestor of Jesus Christ
Biography
A wealthy landowner in Bethlehem, Boaz became the kinsman-redeemer of Ruth the Moabitess. He showed kindness to Ruth when she gleaned in his fields, protected her, and ultimately married her according to the levirate custom. Through their son Obed, Boaz became the great-grandfather of King David.
Boaz exemplifies the kinsman-redeemer role, prefiguring Christ who redeems His people. His inclusion of a Gentile in the Messianic line shows God's plan for all nations.
