Jesus Turns Water into Wine

Jesus and His friends were invited to a wedding party in a town called Cana. Jesus' mom Mary was there too.

Weddings in those days were HUGE celebrations—they lasted for days! But something embarrassing happened. They ran out of wine to drink!

Mary came to Jesus. 'They don't have any more wine.'

Jesus said, 'Why are you telling Me? It's not time for Me to do miracles yet.'

But Mary just smiled. She told the servants, 'Do whatever He tells you.'

There were six HUGE stone jars nearby—each one could hold 20 or 30 gallons!

Jesus told the servants, 'Fill those jars with water.'

They filled them all the way to the tippy top.

'Now,' Jesus said, 'take some to the man in charge of the party.'

The servants looked at each other. It was just water! But they obeyed.

The man in charge tasted it... and his eyes got BIG!

'This is AMAZING!' he said to the groom. 'Most people serve the best stuff first. But you saved the BEST wine for last!'

The water had turned into the most delicious wine ever!

This was Jesus' very first miracle. He didn't do it to show off—He did it to help a family and make people happy. His disciples saw this and believed in Him even more.

Jesus cares about the little things in our lives, not just the big stuff!
