Through the Roof!

Jesus was in a house teaching. SO many people came that the house was PACKED! People were even crowded outside the door!

Four friends had a problem. Their friend couldn't walk at all—he was paralyzed. They wanted to bring him to Jesus, but they couldn't get through the crowd!

Did they give up? NO WAY!

They carried their friend up to the ROOF. Then they started digging! They made a hole right through the ceiling! Dirt and pieces of roof fell down around Jesus.

Then they lowered their friend down through the hole on his mat—right in front of Jesus!

Jesus looked up at those four determined friends. He loved their faith!

Then Jesus said to the paralyzed man, 'Son, your sins are forgiven.'

Some grumpy religious leaders got mad. 'Who does He think He is? Only GOD can forgive sins!'

Jesus knew what they were thinking. He said, 'You think it's easy to say "your sins are forgiven"? Watch this. So you'll know I have power to forgive sins...'

He turned to the man. 'Get up! Pick up your mat and go home!'

Immediately, the man STOOD UP! He picked up his mat and walked out! Everyone was amazed!

Jesus showed that He has power to heal bodies AND forgive sins. And those four friends showed us that we should never give up bringing our friends to Jesus!
