Samson's Last Prayer
A Bible Story for Kids
Samson was in a dark prison. He couldn't see—his eyes were gone. Every day he had to walk in circles pushing a heavy wheel to grind grain. It was awful.
But remember? His hair was growing back.
One day, the Philistines had a big party for their fake god. 'Our god gave us Samson! Bring him out so we can make fun of him!'
They brought blind Samson to their temple. Thousands of people laughed at him. 'Ha ha! The strong man is weak now! Our god beat your God!'
They made Samson stand between two big pillars that held up the building.
Samson asked the boy leading him, 'Let me feel the pillars so I can lean on them.'
Then Samson prayed. It was the most important prayer of his life.
'Lord, please remember me. Just one more time, make me strong again. Let me pay back these Philistines.'
Samson put one hand on each pillar. He pushed with ALL his might!
CRACK! RUMBLE! CRASH!!!
The whole building came tumbling down! Samson died, but so did all the Philistine leaders and thousands of their people.
Samson won his biggest victory at the very end—when he was weakest and had nothing left but prayer.
Samson made lots of mistakes in his life. But God still heard his prayer. God is always ready to forgive us and use us, even when we've messed up. The most important thing is to turn back to Him.
