Nehemiah Sanballat Tobiah Geshem Shemaiah Noadiah the prophetess

The wall was almost done! There were no more holes in it—just the gates needed doors.

But the mean men weren't done being mean. Sanballat and Geshem sent a message: 'Nehemiah, come meet with us in a village!'

Nehemiah knew it was a trick! They wanted to hurt him! So he sent back a message: 'I'm doing something too important! I can't stop the work just to come see you!'

They asked FOUR times. Every time, Nehemiah said NO.

Then Sanballat sent a letter that wasn't sealed—so everyone could read it. It said, 'We heard you're planning to be king! You're rebelling against the big king of Persia!'

This was a LIE! They were trying to scare Nehemiah and get him in trouble.

Nehemiah wrote back, 'That's not true! You're just making it up!' Then he prayed, 'God, make me strong!'

Then a man named Shemaiah said, 'Nehemiah! Come hide with me in the temple! Bad guys are coming to hurt you tonight!'

But Nehemiah was smart. He knew this was another trick! 'Should someone like me run away and hide? No way! I'm not going!'

It turned out the mean men had PAID this guy to try to trick Nehemiah!

Nehemiah just kept praying and kept working. And guess what? The wall was finished in only 52 days! That's less than two months!

When all the enemies heard the wall was done, they were scared. They knew that God had helped Nehemiah do it!

No matter how hard they tried to stop him, they couldn't! God made sure the work got finished.

Nehemiah teaches us: When we're doing something important for God, we shouldn't let anyone distract us or scare us. We just keep going, keep praying, and trust God to help us finish!
