John Sees Jesus Shine

John loved Jesus very much. When John was very old, some mean people sent him away to a lonely island called Patmos because he kept talking about Jesus.

One Sunday, John heard a super loud voice like a trumpet behind him! 'Write down what you see!' the voice said.

John turned around and—WOW! He saw someone who looked so amazing and bright! It was Jesus, but He looked different than before. Jesus' hair was white as snow, and His eyes were bright like fire. His face shined brighter than the sun! He wore a long, beautiful robe with a golden belt.

John was so amazed and a little scared that he fell down on the ground.

But Jesus reached down and touched John gently. 'Don't be afraid, John,' Jesus said in a kind voice. 'I am the First and the Last. I was dead, but look—I am alive forever and ever! And I have the keys to everything, even death.'

Jesus told John to write down messages for seven churches. Even though John was far away on an island, Jesus was still watching over all His churches and taking care of His people.

This made John feel so much better! Jesus is alive and powerful! He takes care of everyone who loves Him.
