A Big Picnic with Jesus

SO many people came to see Jesus—thousands and thousands! They listened to Him teach all day long. But then everyone got hungry. Uh oh!

Jesus asked His friend Philip, 'Where can we get food for all these people?'

Philip looked at the huge crowd. 'We could never buy enough food for everyone!'

Then Andrew found something. 'There's a boy here with a lunch—five little rolls and two small fish. But that's not nearly enough!'

Jesus smiled. 'Tell everyone to sit down on the grass.'

The people sat down—5,000 men, plus women and kids! That's like filling a whole stadium!

Jesus took the boy's little lunch. He thanked God for it. Then He started breaking the bread and fish into pieces.

And something AMAZING happened! Jesus kept breaking off pieces... and there was always more! The helpers passed out food to everyone. Every single person got plenty to eat!

When everyone was full—totally stuffed!—Jesus said, 'Gather up the leftovers.'

Guess how much was left over? TWELVE baskets full! More than they started with!

Everyone was amazed. 'Jesus must be SO special!' they said.

Jesus can take something small—like a little boy's lunch—and do something HUGE with it. When we give what we have to Jesus, He can do amazing things!
