Biography
The firstborn son of Adam and Eve, Cain was a farmer who brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord. When God rejected his offering but accepted Abel's, Cain became angry and murdered his brother in a field. God confronted Cain and cursed him to be a wanderer on the earth, marking him for protection. Cain built the first city, named after his son Enoch.
Biblical Significance
Cain represents humanity's first murder and the escalation of sin after the Fall. His jealousy and violence demonstrate the depths of human depravity without God's grace.
